OPCFHK organized a press briefing on 24 October 2007 announcing :

research findings of 06/07 funded projects |

allocation of HK$5.63 million to support 50 conservation projects in Asia in 2007/2008. |

expand and diversify the project portfolio through the Asian region which includes wildlife habitat conservation and the preservation of endangered reptiles, terrestrial mammals, birds, seahorses and Hong Kong’s coral reef. |

collaboration with the South China University of Technology to study the population and distribution of endangered freshwater turtles, and to evaluate the impact of illegal trade on the remaining wild population. |

support the Asian Pangolin Conservation Program to generate research on nutrition, housing, veterinary care and captive management guidelines to reduce mortality of confiscated pangolins throughout the region. |

call for public's attention and action to stop illegal wildlife trade and consumption of endangered wild animals |
