To celebrate the fifth anniversary of An An and Jia Jia's arrival, HKSPC and Ocean Park Hong Kong co-organised an event called "Lovely Giant Panda Party". This was a month-long event filled with exciting programmes including
Breakfast with Giant Pandas,
Honorary Giant Panda Keeper Programme and
Talks by Wolong Giant Panda Specialists,
etc. Some of the programme proceeds has been channeled to HKSPC after deducting administration cost.
Ocean Park organised a kick off ceremony to launch the event on 2 April 2004. We were proud to invite officiating guests including PRC Central Liaison Office Representative Li Gang, Society Patron- The Hon. Donald Tsang, JP, Society Trustee Chairman, The Hon. Henry Wu King Cheong B.B.S., JP, and Ocean Park Panda Conservation Ambassador- Mr. Tony Leung. Tony has also experienced the life of a giant panda keeper and helped promote the Honorary Giant Panda Keeper Programme on the day.
