Public Awareness Programme 2005

Panda & Friends Funfest 2005

To raise public awareness and accelerate fundraising activities, the Society launched a new promotional programme in 2005. Entitled Panda and Friends Funfest 2005, the programme was available for select periods in March, April and May, during which time 470,000 people visited the Park.

To capture the interest of guests of all ages, events included a Honorary Panda Keepers Programme, which offered a behind-the-scenes tour of the Giant Panda Habitat, and fascinating insights on how to prepare panda cookies and bamboo leaves. In addition to observing one of An An's private feedings, the 89 participants were able to learn what it takes to be a panda keeper, and were fascinated with the biology and daily life of a giant panda.

A Breakfast with Giant Pandas programme was also re-launched in 2005. Visitors enjoyed their breakfast in the panda viewing gallery with educational ambassadors to share their interesting observation about the giant pandas and explain more about the panda's daily life. This programme was complemented by Ocean Park's other new dining experiences: Deep Sea Dining at Atoll Reef, and Brunch with Sea Lions. During the dine-with programme, Ocean Park Corporation donated over HK$0.17 as all the proceeds of these dining programmes to the Society.
